FAQ
What should I wear?
The rehearsal dinner is casual (jeans), and the wedding is dressy casual.
Is the ceremony outside or inside?
The ceremony and wedding dinner will be outdoors (weather permitting). We will also have access to the beautiful Marion Magnolia Barn to play games in, enjoy adult beverages, and as a backup for the ceremony.
What are y’all doing with your names?
Emory and Zephan will be changing their names to Emory Anne Michaels and Zephan Enciso Michaels. Zephan Michael was named after his mother, Michelle, and we will be taking Michaels (which means “son of Michael/Michelle”) as our last name to honor her.
What are your wedding colors?

Our Love Story
Emory and Zephan met in the Computer Science and Engineering program at the University of Notre Dame. In mid-March of 2020, Emory and Zephan had their first date at Let’s Spoon, a frozen yogurt shop near campus. Soon after, Notre Dame had a longer-than-expected Spring Break due to the pandemic. When they reunited during the Fall of their senior year, Emory and Zephan were inseparable. After graduating, Emory and Zephan moved in together into a 100-year-old house along the Saint Joseph River in South Bend, IN.
In April 2024, Emory and Zephan visited one of their best friends in Wichita Falls, TX. While hiking near a beautiful waterfall (and some snakes), Emory proposed to Zephan… and he said yes!
